Denby uses stoneware clay made in the UK, which is very strong and fully vitrified. The surface is made glassy and non-porous which gives it strength, durability and chip resistance.
Each item goes through the kiln at least twice, which makes it super-strong: the first fire is at 950°C for 18 hours, the second at 1175°C for 16 hours.
For over 200 years, Denby has been making beautiful stoneware products in Derbyshire, England. Denby handcrafts considered and made-to-last ceramics and homewares which are versatile, beautiful and durable.
Each piece of pottery is still expertly glazed by craftspeople, a skill handed down from generation to generation.
