Christmas is the time of family, friends and spending quality time with each other. Here at Valley Mill we’ve got a range of beautiful home decor and dining ideas for you for when you are entertaining guests.
Whether it’s a mug of mulled wine, vegan eggnog or a decadent hot chocolate; our 11oz ceramic mugs are lovingly designed to be perfect for those comforting and warm seasonal drinks.
Each mug is hand printed & designed by our in-house team. The question is ‘What to serve in my new festive mug’?
This Valley Mill white ceramic mug with red handle and inner, is printed with a fun Christmas design. This mug is illustrated with the Valley Mill design ‘A Cup of Christmas Spirit’.
Now the question is whether to treat a friend with this mug or treat you! Why not team up your mug with a matching ceramic Christmas coaster?
Why not serve up a delicious Christmassy mug of chocolate orange hot chocolate? We love this recipe.
Chocolate Orange Hot Chocolate
50ml double cream
Zest of half a large orange
50g dark chocolate chips
25ml orange liqueur. We tend to use either Cointreau or Grand Marnier.
First of all you need to infuse the milk with the orange zest. Put the milk, double cream and orange zest into a pan and slowly simmer.
Remove from the heat and pour the mixture through a sieve to remove the orange zest pieces.
Pour the milk back in to the pan and add the dark chocolate chips. Keep stirring until the chocolate has completed melted and mixed with the milk mixture.
Whilst simmering over a low heat, add the orange liqueur. Stir.
Serve in to your Christmassy mug.
Don’t forget your toppings too! Mini marshmallows? Grated chocolate? Squirty cream? You choose.
If you want a non-alcoholic version then take away the liqueur and change the chocolate for a chocolate orange chocolate. We tend to think dark chocolate orange works the best.
