We were delighted to once again attend the annual Cowbridge Food and Drink Festival, which this year has seen a huge overhaul, with two new sites and a layout designed for easy browsing.

We spoke to event organiser Polly Wilson, who with an incredible team worked tirelessly to ensure the new layout ran smoothly. If you attended the festival, you would have noticed some new additions such as the ‘Fringe Festival’ – a family orientated site with face painting, seed planting and more!

So what about the lovely exhibitors? With over 100 exhibitors, demonstrations and more – here are some of our top picks…

Baked by Mel

Baked by Mel is a lovely little home business that delivers Bara Brith to your front door!

Mel’s cooking can only be described as one thing: delicious! Her Bara Brith and Rocky Road are heavenly, and we couldn’t stop going back for more.

Bragdy Tomos a Lilford Brewery

With wacky and weird ale flavours such as Hay, Seaweed, and Rosemary – Tomos a Lilford was one of our favourite stalls! The company was established in 2013, from Llantwit Major in the Vale of Glamorgan.

Owners Rob, Jim and Rolant put our taste buds to the test in a tasting challenge, which we didn’t do very well in! Who thought seaweed would make such a great ale flavour?

Morgan’s Brew Tea Company

Our favourite thing about Morgan’s Brew Tea Company is that it’s not just for tea. With exciting flavours such as: Pfunda Rwandan Black tea, Red Berry Flower, and Peach the possibilities are endless. Whether you put a scoop in your ice cream or a sprinkle in your prosecco, it is bound to tingle your tongue!

The time put into organising the festival by the contributors, exhibitors and volunteers allowed the festival to go off without a hitch. Cowbridge was basked in sunshine and we can’t wait to return next year!
