This summer we are incredibly proud to have been a small part of the Homeless World Cup 2019 that took place in Cardiff. As well as making the Welsh slate trophies, we also had an exciting visit from a Welsh superstar and got to visit the event itself in Cardiff’s Bute Park.
We can’t believe it’s been almost two years since our first Meet the Maker blog about Melin Tregywnt! It’s definitely about time that we shone a spotlight on another of our wonderful suppliers. This weekend, Welsh Lavender opened their gates to the public as part of the National Garden Scheme Open Days.
We went along to look around their beautiful lavender fields and learn more about how they make their skincare products. We even got to have a browse of their first ever Makers Market.
Welcome to a brand new feature to the Slate House blog! Every month we will be introducing you to some of Wales’ top chefs and their restaurants, and bring you their signature dish to try for yourselves at home.
To kick things off, meet Bryan Webb, the owner of Tyddyn Llan, a Michelin star restaurant that can be found in Llandrillo, nestled in the beautiful North Wales countryside.
Making History- A Day Out at St Fagans Museum of History
July 24, 2017Over the past 5 years, a huge £30 million project has been underway to refurbish St Fagans Museum of History, Wales’ most popular heritage site. The 14th July 2017 has marked the next step of this monumental redevelopment- the opening of the brand new main building and shop.
Some of you may know that Slate House supplies Welsh slate, soy wax candles and natural soaps to over 100 stores up and down the UK, and we are really pleased to add St Fagans to that list. You can now find a range of our Soy Wax candles in the museum’s brand new shop; so we decided to go the opening of the new shop and have a look around.
