Bonfire night 2016 is fast-approaching and as revellers get in the mood for an evening of fireworks, sparklers and hot dogs, the news has broken that Cardiff’s main attraction, Sparks in the Park has sold out.

If you haven’t managed to get a ticket, don’t worry – there are lots of other organised displays where you can get your Guy Fawkes Night thrills! Here’s our pick of the top 6 fireworks displays in South Wales.


Neath – Fireworks at the Gnoll

Neath Fireworks Display

Date: Friday 4th November, 2016

Venue: The Gnoll, Neath, SA11 3BT.

Time: Gates open at 5.30pm. Fireworks start at 7pm.

Price: Family ticket: £12. Adults: £5. Under 16’s: £3. Students: £4.

Fireworks Skyshow – Merthyr Tydfil

 Merthyr Tydfil Fireworks

Date: Friday 4th November, 2016

Venue: Cyfarthfa Park, Merthyr Tydfil, CF47 8RE.

Time: Gates open at 5.45pm. Fireworks start at 7.15pm

Price: £8 for a family of four (if bought in advance). £2.50 per person on the night.

Tickets can be purchased from Cyfarthfa Museum, Merthyr Leisure Centre, Aberfan Community Centre and Redhouse.


Swansea’s Biggest Firework Display

Swansea Fireworks

Date: Saturday 5th November, 2016

Venue: St Helen’s Ground, Swansea, SA1 4JE

Time: Gates open at 5.30pm. Entertainment starts at 6.00pm. Fireworks start at 7.30pm.

Price: Individual: £3 – £6. Group: £12 – £22

Time: 7pm prompt.

Venue: Caerphilly town centre.

Price: Free, but there will be a charity collection in aid of Caerffili Lions and Wales Air Ambulance.
